01The brief
Fifteen artists, twelve countries, one show.
Kutubna’s next exhibition opened a week after Women in Contemporary Arab Art closed. It brought together more than 25 abstract works by 15 artists living across the UAE, from Algeria to Armenia to the Emirates, with a section for youth artists. The show needed its own face, fast, on the system we had just built.
The work
Abstract paintings, collage and mixed media exploring memory, identity, nature and human relationships through colour, form and texture.
The system
It follows the Kutubna exhibition system: the artwork fills the frame, a bilingual title block sits on one colour, details run in matching English and Arabic.
02The key visual
One painting sets the tone.
We built the identity on Miska Mohmmed’s What the Horizon Carries, a watercolour of layered blues breaking into red. A clear exhibition blue holds the panel, and the Kutubna turquoise carries the bilingual title. The lockup came in three weights so it could work from a sticker to a website banner.

03The catalogue
48 pages, every artist in two languages.
Each artist opens with a portrait and a bilingual biography; each work gets its own plate with title, medium, year and size in English and Arabic. The youth artists get their own section, marked by a full-colour divider, so the younger voices read as a chapter rather than an afterthought.

04Inviting the city
From the flyer to the artist’s voice.
The same panel and lockup carried the A5 flyer, the announcement post and the launch stories. Then the social series turned to the artists themselves: a portrait and a line in their own words, followed by the work. A wall sticker with Kandinsky’s words on art and the soul went up in the space.
The result
A complete identity for the Abstract Art Exhibition, 24 May to 11 August 2025, delivered on the same grammar as Kutubna’s first show. Fifteen very different artists, one consistent frame.
