A column made of bread.
Logo and icon for Foro Romano, an Italian restaurant: a Roman column built from bread and wheat, in the colours of Italy.

01The idea
Wheat, bread and a column.
Foro Romano is an Italian restaurant named after the Roman Forum. We looked for one shape that could hold the food and the place together, and found it in three things: a grain of wheat, a loaf of bread and an Ionic column.
02The mark
A column you can eat.
The loaves become the top of the capital, two wheat grains curl into its scrolls, and the fluted shaft holds it up. Set in a rounded square, the icon sits beside a lettered wordmark, in the green and red of the Italian flag.
